Rolls are the workhorse of the floral studio. You cut to length, so one roll replaces a stack of sheet sizes and keeps offcut waste low. A roll hangs on the wall or sits on the workbench, which saves valuable space in a busy shop. Switching the colour of your wrapping is as simple as changing the roll.
Choosing the right roll
- Material: clear film, also called florist cellophane or foil, shows the flowers and protects against wind and rain. Kraft paper gives a natural, warm look. Most florists use both and layer them.
- Width: 30 to 50cm for single stems and small bouquets, 60 to 70cm for everyday hand-tied bouquets, 75cm and wider for large and event bouquets.
- Film thickness: 20µ to 25µ for a soft drape, 30µ to 35µ for everyday wrapping, 40µ for large bouquets that need a firm hold.

- Which roll do I need for single stems? A narrow roll of 30cm to 50cm in thin film of 20µ to 25µ. It wraps a single stem neatly without excess material.
- What is the difference between OPP and BOPP film? Both are polypropylene floral films. BOPP is stretched in two directions, which makes it slightly stiffer and very clear.
- Can I combine film and kraft from a roll? Yes. Wrap kraft on the outside for the look and add clear film on top or inside for protection against water and weather.
